Knitting cupcakes for my friend Jamie's birthday. She just started a cake business called, Cake Please! (My camera is sucksville.)
Making cupcakes for my son Tanner's class for his birthday. He turns 8 today!
Pouring soy wax into containers recycled from our post-elopement party. Eco-friendly candles make great holiday gifts for teachers! Jenny made the labels for both her kids and mine. :)
Going into my son Tristan's kindergarten class to make simple, polar fleece scarves with the kids. As they were cutting fringe I had them repeat after me, "Crafting is awesome!". My job is done. ;)

You are an inspiration, Ms. Vickie!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your passionate life with the world! Your family is so fortunate to have such a loving & talented mom, wife, daughter, etc. Merry, happy, healthly Christmas to you & yours!& let's bring on the new year!
Peace be love in action,
Linda B from NJ, aka mom, grammie, fiber fanatic,
you know how that goes :)
Nice work! I have been spinning, knitting, and baking but not taking pictures (much) so it's hard to prove. You'll just have to take my word for it!
ReplyDeleteI had a "my job is done" moment this week, too. I'd picked up my daughter and her friend from school and we were driving home. The topic of Christmas gifts came up. I said, "G, what do you want for Christmas?" and she said, "Well, I found all these craft supplies at the store and that's what I want - loads of craft supplies!" She's the kid who comes to my house and asks if she can craft with me. (my daughter isn't as in to it as this kid is.) Needless to say, I love having her over.
ReplyDeleteMy camera is broken, but I've made a stocking, I'm working on a stick horse, and I threw together a few teacher gifts. I've also embroidered some stuff ... but I'm still kinda behind.
PS - Jenny is the shit. But you already know that. :)
Tanner and I share a birthday! (and a name, how 'bout that!!)
ReplyDeleteHey Vickie! Love the cupcakes for Tanner's class. So cute. I am emailing you a picture of the fabric book cover I made for my mom complete with pic of the kiddos from their last trip to grammas!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Holidays!!!!!
Reba
Wow!! I'm very impressed. But I don't have young kids anymore; mine are both in University.
ReplyDeleteI plan to start my holiday baking tomorrow....
How awesome! I wish I had more exciting stuff to report! I've been working on two blankets for my hubby's great-aunts' Christmas gifts. But I did have time to teach Will and Alex (8 and 4 years old) to make construction paper chains for our Christmas tree garland.
ReplyDeleteI like the polar fleece scarves idea... I may keep that in mind for next year, when Alex is in Kindergarten. I think I need to create a crafting calendar for 2008 so I actually have time to do all the things I want to!
Happy Birthday to Tanner!
Awesome class pic! Who's the kid making the scary face on the far left? Maybe he wanted a different color scarf...hehe.
ReplyDeleteThe cupcakes look GREAT!! Both the real and the knitted ones. YUMMY
I think I would run screaming from a class of Kindergartners making a craft. I was "lucky" enough to have been ill when I had my wrap-up party with my Kinder Choir kids, and they were gluing. A lot. Of foam.
ReplyDeleteNext year, I need to do something more "crafty" than what Oriental Trading Company can give me. Not that there's anything wrong with that...
Avg Jane--God job, preaching the crafty gospel!
ReplyDeleteKnitting Maniac--Oriental Trading company is the bomb--but it would have required me planning ahead of time to order from them. Polar fleece=cheap, good & fast.
Jen--How did we never discover that before? Happy belated b-day!
Roe--we started paper chains but the kids lost interest about 10 into it. :(
Whaawhoo--LOL!! I didn't even notice that kids face. Kindergarteners are surly!

Vic
Do you have time to sleep?? : )
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you've been able to be home to have fun with all of the Holiday stuff! I can't believe it's already been a whole year since I was there in CA shooting. Weird.
ReplyDeleteHappy Holidays to you and yours!
